Basic needs

Food Security: Our Food Pantry program provides food assistance and personal hygiene products based on the number and age of individuals in the household. 

Medical and Dental: Through local partners who offer free or low-cost treatments, we provide translation and interpretation services in the client’s native languages for accurate information about appointments, questions and answers during appointments and follow up information after appointments. 

Housing and Utilities: Interpretation and translation services are available to help clients find housing, understand rental agreements or misunderstandings, obtain and/or shut off utilities and communicate with utility providers about billing issues.

Translation Services: IFC staff helps translate documents, provide in-person translation for parent/teacher conferences, court appearances, immigration appointments and more.

community services

Education: Actively assist parents and teachers with translation and interpretation services about their children's education needs and progress during school conferences and enrollment as well as resource information about free English as a second language classes near their home or workplace.

Safety: Provide interpretation and translation services for victims of domestic violence, spousal and/or child abuse so that our clients have access to a safe place and legal assistance.

Social: Assist adults and children in communicating with community services and other nonprofits to better integrate into the community.

immigration

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA): Access to information about applications, needed documentation and assistance in completing the application to defer deportation and provide work permits for children who were brought to the US.

Powers of Attorney: Assist with applications to provide legal authority to the client’s chosen agent/attorney-in-fact, to act on behalf of the client if they are deported. Provide access to protection for their children, finances and property.

Travel for Minors Outside the US: Interpretation, translation and assistance in writing letters and obtaining notarization on letters for minors to travel outside the US without a parent.

US Passport: Interpretation and translation support for U.S Passport applications and renewals.
